Gujarat, India

Mehsana is a village in Gujarat, in the North-East of India. The St. Xavier school is supported by the Archbishop of Gujarat, Stanilaus Fernandes, SJ. Thanks to several sponsors from all over the world, he succeeded to build a beautiful school for more than 400 Indian children who are admitted independently from their social status or religion.
In the year 2005 Mr. Roberto Fassi and Dr. Udo Wenzel representing Azelis SA helped to realize an additional building allowing the high school to be fully operational. This building extension was inaugurated in 2010. In the following years further private fund raising helped the school to install computer and language laboratories. In the very next future, further support is required to allow the full implementation of the English speaking branch requiring additional class rooms and facilities. A new building was started and needs funds to be ultimated before end of 2015.
Two professional Austrian photographers, Joachim Bergauer and Dr. René R. Wenzel, are supporting the project by documenting the school, the students and the region in their pictures - making them available and sharing them all over the world.
